Those who can't handle a little harsh language over their pet media darlings are unreachable in the first place. They've drunk too deeply of the tainted flavor-aid...

When people say "it's not what you said but how you said it" you can bet your sweet bippy it's EXACTLY what was said, and they're just looking for a lame excuse to ignore it.

Truth hurts. That's why most people avoid it like "preventing the plague."

Speaking of phrases that need a bit of modernization. If the past two years have taught me anything, it's that the old saying "avoiding it like the plague" is not something the rank and file morons do.
