This all flies in the face of one of the most basic concepts of actual design.

The best design is one the user doesn't notice.

It doesn't help that a lot of what you're doing also compromises legibility. That hover state in particular is a bit of a "screw you" to users.

But that's to be expected from anyone who would "design" in pixels. Or use display:flex on things that don't even have word-wrap, or use RGBA with a alpha of zero...

The objections to being "boring" reeking of the usual artist under the DELUSION they know what design is... when they clearly do not.
