Thing is 90%+ of what VS code does above/beyond code editing is pointless bloat I'd NEVER use in the first place. AND there's so much garbage I turn off in editors like forcing everything into single windows, the illegible acid trip of colour syntax highlighting, etc, etc...

Thus my editor of choice is Flo's NotePad 2, which is based on Scintilla without being a total piece of Scite (that’s a joke). It has a monolithic 898k executable, and a memory footprint of around two megabytes.

REGARDLESS of programming language, I've never needed or even wanted more!

Could be worse though, could be emacs of vi/vim; the former being a laugh as its users spend more time dicking around writing macro’s than they do useful code, and the latter … well, if I wanted to waste time and brain cells on cryptic convoluted keyboard commands from the ‘70’s, I’d still be using Wordstar. ^K that.
