There are a lot of 17th and 18th century colloquialisms we needs bring back into the common vernacular. But instead of cool stuff like “gnashgab” or “lubberwort”, instead we have over-glorified scobberlotcher cashiers being called “barista” as if they’re out back wafer slicing onions and micromanaging a percolator over an open flame.
