"over for all intents and purposes" is bullshit. Dunno about you, but I have clients looking at FCP, FMP, and dozens of other load time issues. It's why we get new/better formats, it's why things like HTTP 2 push and HTML 5 preload are a thing.

This lame, limp, "wah wah eye dunz wunna" lazy BULLSHIT of "oh bandwidth doesn't matter" in the middle of a worldwide BANDWIDTH CRUNCH due to a lack of new infrastructure... the fact that mobile is now >50% of all traffic, and that in MOST places middle 4g speed is still a pipe dream alongside issues like connection throttling...

Claiming that we don't have to care about filesizes is basically being a lazy turd turtling out your backside.
