Now that I know what you're referring to I've been testing it and learning it... since I never even heard of it before...

And it appears that when an Object.handleEvent is called, "this" is the METHOD "handleEvent" and not the Object... making it as utterly pointless and useless as the normal behavior!

So what's the point of using it? Where would that even be beneficial?
