No offesnse, but you're talking out your backside. Google fonts do NOT set cookies. AT ALL. That's not even what the recent complaints about GF even involves.

The GDPR says that IP addresses are "personal data" and a German court ruled that requesting files from Google -- which INHERENTLY requires sending your IP address -- is a privacy violation. That means ANY time a website includes a file from a different doman, it's a privacy violation in EU courts.

THAT IS DUMB. That interpretation -- the only one leveraged against GF -- means that any use of external files off site is illegal under the GDPR and that's where all the negativity twoards GF comes from. And this is why people who know jack about technology have zero business making, enforcing, or ruling on laws about it.

Where you even got the idea that cookies are involved with Google Fonts is utterly beyond me as that's not a thing. Does not exist.

Though the unsplash image on that page sets a cookie. Again, where's the "outrage" over that? Unsplash would be a violation on both counts -- that they get your IP address with a http-referer or my domain, AND they set a cookie... that's domain specific which means you'd have to spy from my domain in which case you already have that information....

Which is why cookie warnings are so utterly freaking dumbass.

I'm not being lax, I'm isntead aware of nutjob tinfoil hat bullshit and not believing nonsensical lies like "Google fonts sets cookies" that have nothing to do with reality!

Sadly a lot of the things people believe about tracking and cookies is made up fairy tale nonsense with even less legitimacy or understanding than religion. It makes flat-earth halftweets and naturopathy look legit, it's that whackadoodle.
