I still say they exist for people too stupid to use events properly and who insist on a more convoluted and less natural syntax.

I hated the derpy daisy chaining of returns in jQuery, I hate it even more with promises. Talk about grossly inefficient and wasteful nonsense to molly-coddle the feeble-minded.

Why do we need promises in JavaScript?
