I just worry about how many companies let themselves get SUCKERED by so called "builders' and end up with broken, slow loading, expensive to maintain long term WRECKS of developer incompetence.
But then as an accessibility and efficiency consultant, my "bread and butter" is dealing with websites that are in court or at least worried about their accessibility failings. And 99% of the time mind-numbingly idiotic GARBAGE like "web builders" or "frameworks" are the root cause. And why?
Because most of the time the people who MAKE these tools don't know enough about HTML, CSS, usability, efficiency, maintainability, sustainability or accessibility to write a single damned line of HTML in the first place. Much less have the UNMITIGATED GALL to make tools that do so for others.
But to be fair I consider the fact that people treat "web design" as separate from "Front end development" and that so many ALLEGED "designers" don't know anything more than pushing pixels around in Photoshop or Figma to be a major contributor to why 80%+ of the web is in violation of laws like the ADA, EQA, etc, etc. In a "WCAG, what's that then?" kind of way.
As I'm always saying, we've got way too many ARTISTS under the DELUSION that they're "web designers" when they don't even know what a legible colour contrast is.
