And for me it does the exact opposite. Because it's more code, even if you leave out comments in TS and add more in JS it tends to just be more crap to wade through to even try and find the logic.

That's why the claims of it helping seem so delusional for me. It does the opposite of the claims for me, and I've watched it screw so many of my clients where they end up with multiple megabytes of JS doing 64k or less' job.

It's really funny seeing all the things people bitched about and made fun of Pascal and Ada for being implemented atop the already garbage C syntax and half-assed object model of JavaScript.

If instead they chose to implement the verbose clear syntax and ditch the endless pointless cryptic combinations of symbols, I'd probably be a lot more down with that.

Your "generics" example? EXACTLY the type of WTF cryptic syntax I'm talking about, and for what? Make up for poor documentation and/or function names? Code like that makes me want to punch people in the face. I swear it's like Typescript is an attempt to turn JavaScript into brainfuck.

Yes, that's a programming language.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brainfuck

But as we've long since established, 99%+ of the garbage -- transpilers, frameworks, pre-processors, editor tools -- people sing the praises of leave me confused, lost, and wondering just what the hell everyone is singing praises of. It ALL has the exact opposite of the claims for me.

And the only reason I can figure for any of it is other people wasting time learning all that junk, instead of just learning the underlying languages. It's predatory, fraudulent, and screws over just about anyone and everyone involved.

And most people don't seem to have learned enough of JS, HTML, or CSS to even recognize the giant bullseye and "open for business" sign they've put on their bung for the scammers.

Dunning-Kruger is in full effect.
