Am I wrong? Am I crazy for wanting the words in programming and how they are used to match what the words actually mean?

Or is this like where how we're not allowed to call Brock Turner a convicted rapist because he wasn't convicted of "rape" but instead "sexual assault with a foreign object"

You know... The dictionary definition of the word rape?

Whenever people abuse language this way in such a fashion, you have to assume they're trying to artificially manipulate the narrative.

In the case of programming, such manipulation oft feels like a way to maintain the L33t status of programmers, the same way legalese does for lawyers.
